When it comes to the numerous challenges facing the American church, Steve believes fervently, in the words of PCUSA Stated Clerk J. Herbert Nelson, that  “the church is not dying - it is transforming.” That conviction lies at the heart of Steve's call with Horizons Stewardship  (www.horizons.net), partnering with churches and mid-councils across the country to help foster cultures of generosity that view giving as a spiritual endeavor and not just funding a budget:

• Capital Campaigns: Guiding churches in funding bold new initiatives, addressing deferred maintenance, retiring debt, or pursuing a combination of these goals.  
• Annual Stewardship: Helping congregations cultivate a year-round culture of generosity and sustainable giving.  
• Asset Stewardship: Assisting churches with underutilized properties to maximize their ministry impact and create new revenue streams.  
• Generosity Cohorts: Enabling presbyteries and other judicatory bodies in equipping smaller churches with best practices for fostering generosity and increasing giving.

Steve can also assist churches with: Visioning/strategic planning, Working Genius training for teams, Staff restructuring/alignment, Merger/Shared ministry, Mission studies, and Advanced pastor searches.  In addition, he has a passion for coaching clergy, seminary students, and those discerning a call to ministry.
